Safety Management

Petrochem Carless Ltd is committed to ensuring all of its activities are carried out in a safe manner. The company operates in a highly regulated industry and must comply with specific legislation targeted at hazardous installations. This includes the Control of Major Accidents & Hazards (COMAH) and Pollution Prevention & Control (PPC).

To implement the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental policy a safety management system has been adopted based on the guidance in HS(G) 65. The system consists of a number of key elements and is supported by a pro-active management style that encourages staff involvement. The system is internally audited.

Key aspects are:

• A clear policy commitment to a safe, low risk environment.
• Documented organisational arrangements.
• A method for implementing the policy e.g. through safe operating procedures.
• Documented monitoring of the standard of implementation.
• An internal audit programme to review all elements in the systems.
